simplicity ☓

Hi loves! Here is the post I meant to post (???) yesterday for my Sunday vibe sort of feels. Even though it's Monday, that doesn't mean we still can't all cozy up and smile that the toughest day of the week is over and appreciate simple things in life. That is how I find my happiness, and yesterday I was truly inspired by that concept. Maybe it's because it was my favorite day of the week or I was in a good mood or I was just feelin' my outfit, but I wanted to take a moment to talk about simplicity and what it means for my life.

First, all the details: Dress: Brandy Melville. Rings: Free People. Belt: Madewell. Earrings: Urban Outfitters / Long, gold line earring Shop Seasouth. Necklace: Nomadic Store. Fuzzy Grey Pouch: Shop Seasouth. Clear Glasses: Urban Outfitters.

Check out Shop Seasouth here

I don't know why, but all these little photographs of my favorite things (new and sort of old) really defines simplicity for me. Just a simple dress, a good pair of glasses, modern earrings. I think that nowadays simplicity is actually something we all strive for, since it can easily get broken with all this technology, influences from others, magazines…I think we are all so influenced that we can loose what makes us feel simple and whole. What are your true passions? Are you posting things because you want to get likes, or because you actually feel something for the picture you took? Of course we're all guilty of it; buying something, going somewhere, just to take pictures and get tons of good feedback. But why force it? Why not photograph something that actually makes you happy when looking at it.

It takes so much time to find a nitch, to develop a style that's truly you, but when you do it will be so worth it. Really, all it takes is channeling what you like and what makes your heart feel whole. I didn't want to make this corny or cheesy at all, just a stream of thoughts I've been having recently…I'm probably not even going to proof read this. Sometimes it's so easy to be uninspired. We all get in funks. So by saying my feelings hopefully it will get me out of this 'funk'. I think this week will be a good one :-)

I hope you guys liked this post and just took some time to think maybe. That would be awesome. Share your thoughts!

take care

Hey guys! Today I had the pleasure of photographing for an old pal that has been with me since the beginning….I think you guys will know who it is. Well, you actually definitely know who it is since I already posted too many photos on my Tumblr of it all, so that was a stupid question.

nomadic store has been with me since the beginning (3 years ago) that i started my blog. and like my style has evolved over the years, so has nomadic. their once small-time chokers (even though they were never small) have now expanded into beautiful, naturally layered necklaces and uniquely stoned pieces. i have been a fan of them for ages and so when i got the chance to photograph for them today in their new pieces i was so excited to show you guys. check out their new line here, their website, & their perfect instagram!!

PIECES (in order):
1. gold layer v/bar choker
2. trio clear/leaf necklace
3. gold collective choker
4. silver long layer leaf/bar necklace
5. gold drape leaf choker

There's one more I'll be showing you guys later in the week :-)

Sorry guys I'm sort of making this short, I'm with my sis and really want to spend some quality time with her. See you back here tomorrow :-)

another change

Hi guys! Since all I can do is really spend the day at home, I thought it'd be a good idea to organize some things and also show you a lil sneak preview of how I will be decorating my dorm for my first year in college (in NYC). I absolutely love interior design, it would probably be my second passion if I didn't have this one, so it was so exciting to start shopping for dorm stuff. My inspiration is mainly what I've been getting into recently; always those classic, vintage vibes with a mix of New York modern and brown, fall tones.

All those mini new things are a glimpse of what I've picked up from IKEA to decorate my room. I wish I could show you everything but most of it is a mess (which you will see) and I think it will be better to see actually put all together anyway. I'm definitely going to do a dorm tour too which will be fun :-)

Also, got a new Daniel Wellington watch!!! I decided to stick it along with this post, but you'll see a more elaborated post soon. This is the classic St Mawes in brown, but use the code KIKITYLER15 to get 15% off!!! Check out their site here.

It's so weird to think that I'll be moving to the city in less than a month. It's all so exciting, scary, and maybe a bit nerve wracking. But also to think that I'll be living in my favorite city in the world makes me so happy it lets me forget about everything else. Again, I'll be showing you guys more dorm-spiration once the time comes around. Until then, our planning room will continue to look like this…

Hope you all had a wonderful Friday.

Xoxo,
Kiki
