in between summer & fall

It's a very awkward time in dressing--it's still pretty warm, yet air conditioned rooms and random cold breezes pop up here and there which leaves a girl to question...what the hell do I wear? In between summer and fall, I try to incorporate some cozy pieces, while still being careful that I have a breathable feature about my outfits. Here is what I wore on a day where the weather was just so, and I felt perfectly insulated (and pretty chic).

the new living room

As you might have seen in my recent YT video, I got the insane urge to update the living room. I wanted it to be a space where I could come home and be sure that it reflects my personal style and became a spot where I could gain inspiration--have some wine after a long day and host friends in. Read more to see how I transformed my space.

my favorite spots in nyc

It's no lie that I'm a foodie and love New York City restaurant-searching. It's honestly like a soul search. After living here for 2 years, I think I've put together a great list of restaurants that I frequent, so much so that the people actually know me at most of these and it is mostly embarrassing. And even though a lot of these spots are dear to my heart and, like you're favorite band, I didn't want to give them up...but, here's the list...

can we bring back vests?

While on a casual trip to Banana Republic with my mom, as one does, I saw this vest in the sale and my mind instantly flooded with weird ideas. How cool would this vest look in the fall, over a sweater? Or, even better, just worn by itself in the summer? I know it's definitely strange, but I wanted to test the look out...

desk series

Hi guys! I wanted to share a couple of photographs of my desk because it is my literal favorite thing about my room. I honestly don't know what it is--perhaps because of the collection of beauty products or just the lightweight, delicate nature about it especially when sunlight filters in and casts a special glow, but I just love it. My desk is from Ikea and, like I discussed in my last blogpost, I definitely want to cover it in a marble pattern soon but for right now I am appreciating the wood texture. I also spray-painted that mirror from black to white and got a chair from Tjmaxx and threw a fur throw on it to make it extra comfy. I wanted to create an inspiring space that would make me look forward to doing my makeup because...I rarely look forward to doing my makeup.

Also, my desk is normally facing my window, but I just wanted to see what it would look like facing the wall. I absolutely love the look of it, but the layout of my room is tricky to work with, so I might have to move it back. But, it's fun to change it up and dream!

Anyway, I didn't want to do much writing here, I felt inspired to take some photos. Let me know what you guys think! Also I changed my theme! I am so happy with it. I literally said this the other day but I just really wanted something simple and more me...and the more I thought about it the more I wanted to do it. Really hope you guys like it too!

feeling oh so parisian

Hello friends!! So I'm very excited about this post because it's featuring one of my favorite brands, and, since I haven't updated on here in a little bit (I wanted to focus more on Youtube/Fashion Week-ing) I decided to do a makeshift photoshoot in my apartment today. I was feeling very Parisian; fall is in the air, hair tied back in a loose pony, mini dress floating in the wind. I know that might sound a little too sensual, but this is how I truly felt today. I've felt so inspired lately (I think it's the weather finally changing) and my wardrobe is taking a turn toward the more European influenced...

Before I get too ahead of myself, this beautiful wrap dress is from Vida Moulin by Faithfull the brand. This little guy I will link here. Get 15% off by entering the coupon code 'NYCBAMBI' at checkout when you go to www.vidamoulin.com :-)

I wore a silk, blush-toned tank underneath (from H&M) with a gold necklace I made myself and skinny gold bracelet from & Other Stories. Since I was running around the city today for class I just wore with Converse, but ankle-strap heels would look sooooo nice with this dress. Also, I know we're on different platforms, but I will definitely be featuring this dress in my fall lookbook Youtube video (which should be up next week) so keep your eyes peeled for that! I will wear this dress until it is negative degrees outside, thank you very much (but seriously).

the best birthday

Hi pups! So most of you may have known that it was my birthday on Friday, June 17th, just because I couldn't stop posting photographs with the birthday balloon emoji. It was seriously one of the most beautiful birthdays I've ever had, all thanks to my love, Adam. I decided I wanted to stay in NYC for my birthday just because...why not celebrate with my most favorite person in my most favorite city? Without further ado, I want to show you everything we did. And how beautiful he made it for me. So lucky.

So first stop, as you would probably predict, it was The Standard for breakfast outside in their garden. Adam was of course healthy, but I couldn't resist in ordering the blueberry lemon pancakes. They're whole wheat okay?!?!?!

Being a diva with coffee & sunglasses from & Other Stories.

After breakfast, we decided to venture around the meat packing district/Greenwich since they're so close to each other and they're my favorite parts of the city. He got me a bouquet of flowers and we continued venturing, picking out our future brownstone (or shall I say I was the annoying one saying 'BOO WE MUST GET THIS' after each apartment we passed with vines or a beautiful wooden door.)

My birthday outfit was as so -- Free People polka dot dress, Steve Madden sandals, Ralph Lauren bag, Nomadic Store necklace.

After getting lemonade in Soho, Adam surprised me with the lunch spot. Even weirder? When we passed it on our way to get lemonade I said, "Oh my God, Laduree!" hence his laughter when we stumbled upon it again. I was so shocked because I didn't even know they had an actual restaurant, tucked behind the usual cafe/macaron area. It was beautiful.

I can't even tell you how many glasses of champagne I had on my birthday. Okay wait, just 2. But still that felt like a lot to me!! We both got caesar salads, mine with chicken and his with lobster because he's sophisticated. Then, of course, we got macarons. The rose water one I died over. Mmmmmm.

Next was shopping in Soho. Adam really really wanted to get me a nice bag and though I'm content with the ones I had, going to All Saints on your birthday really makes you feel princess-y. So I said fine. And splurged. We also went to Reformation and picked up one piece.

I plan on showing all the items I got on my birthday in a Youtube video, so for now I will just have to tease you with the bags!

Then it was bike-riding time! I've always dreamt of getting a vintage bike with a basket. And these came pretty darn close. We went to the West Side and biked along the water. It was so romantic and blissfully perfect.

After bike riding for almost two hours, we decided it was time to return the bikes and get drinks. Unfortunately then my phone died, so I wasn't able to capture the rest of the night. Which ended up being okay because most of the places we went to didn't have great lighting. Even though I would love to share they're beauty with you :'(

We got drinks on a rooftop bar with an old train track and tons of plants. Adam knows me so well hahahaha. But seriously, it was beautiful. I got champagne and he got one of his cucumber drinks and we just stood up there and talked. I couldn't stop thanking him for this beautiful day.

After drinks for an hour, Adam surprised me yet again with dinner at literally one of my favorite places in New York City, Spice Market. It was so delicious and we stayed there for two hours, just eating and drinking white wine and talking. It was seriously gorgeous and delicious. Definitely recommend!

Then we headed back to my place and called it a beautiful day. I cannot thank Adam enough for giving me the most perfect birthday. And cannot thank you guys enough for sending me amazing birthday messages/wishes that made it even more beautiful. I appreciate them all so, so much. I seriously feel so blessed.

the room tour

Hello everybody! As many of you probably know by now, I moved to my own apartment in NYC. And though it's literally the second week of me being here, I already shoved in IKEA furniture, plants, and candles to make my space as 'me' as possible in a short amount of time. Basically, I wanted it to feel like home. And, like my previous room when I lived with my parents, I have my bed without a headboard, a desk area, cacti, and tons of Anthropologie candles and vintage pictures to complete my space and make it feel cozy. Without further ado, here's a peak into how I decorated it so far. Descriptions underneath to come.

The room as a whole...

INSPIRATION: crisp, all white. vintage photos. rose-gold touches. tons of greenery. old lightbulbs. fluffy white carpets. rustic.

This is obviously the area where I blog, sleep, and cuddle with my love. The nightstands are raw wood surfaced (from TJmaxx) and I wanted to keep my bed all white because it's always so cozy and clean. I tacked some of my favorite images from Tumblr above my bed to keep me inspired and to fill up that empty wall space. Yes, my walls are cream, but I don't really have any plans to change them to white because they basically look white (the editing made them more yellow-toned, I swear).

The beauty area...

INSPIRATION: wood. candles. perfumes & lotions. fern. vanity. mod chair.

Instead of having an actual cluttered desk (like I had in my dorm and at home) I wanted a space where I could sit down and do my makeup in the morning...I stayed at a hotel and they had a legit vanity for me to do my makeup in, which then made me obsessed and wanting it ever since. This is where I can feel like a 'princess', but hopefully a rustic one (hahahaha). But seriously all jokes aside, I love this space and how it's right in front of the window which always makes for perfect makeup lighting.

The rest...
I still have touches to add. I have a rose-gold clothing rack that will be coming in the next 2 weeks and some matching, wire bins to store things. So it's not completely done! But I will be filming a video on my Youtube when it is to show you my room in it's entirety :-)

Here are some seriously genuine photos of me (without makeup, absolutely chilling in my private zone) because I wanted my room to be a place where I can read, embarrassingly dance, and be joyous because this has turned into my happy place.

Wearing: Sea Gypsies lace playsuit. Free People lieutenant hat.
